abertis, the ParisTech civil engineering school (ENPC) and IFSTTAR (the French institute of transport science and technology, development and networks) set up the chaire abertis in 2011. Its activities focus on training and research in the field of transport infrastructure management and are aimed at students, researchers, lecturers and professionals in the field.
The chaire abertis in Paris is one of the three institutions which award the international abertis Prize for research into transport infrastructure management, along with the chairs backed by abertis in cooperation with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona, and La Sapienza university, in Rome.
The chaire abertis is held by Simon Cohen, lecturer and researcher at the ParisTech civil engineering school.
