The UPC - abertis chair in Transport Infrastructure Management
abertis, the leading private corporation in Spain in the field of transport and communications infrastructure management, set up the UPC-abertis chair in Transport Infrastructure Management in 2003 in co-operation with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
The UPC-abertis chair carries out educational and research activities in the field of transport infrastructure management. In terms of education, the chair organises specialised talks, courses and seminars aimed at professionals in the sector. It annually awards the abertis Prize as an incentive to research.
The UPC-abertis chair is headed by Francesc Robusté, professor of Transport at the UPC, and is based at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos de Barcelona [the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering] at the same university.
